The objective of this 6-month coaching engagement was to support the newly appointed CFO in creating a cohesive business and leadership approach within the Finance Group by unifying three disparate areas, each with widely divergent needs and new performance expectations. Given the scope and complexity of this business challenge, the coaching approach was to build a laddered foundation for success through three distinct development phases. Phase I: Familiarization and acclimation, understanding and communicating the new vision, acclimation, and team assessment. Phase II: Reorganization, including bringing in new leaders, managing expectations, building trust and accountability. Phase III: Transformation, including rethinking the business, bringing the sides together, leading meaningful, forward-looking conversations, and continuously working on herself as leader of a large group. This resulted in not only driving change and transformation within the Group, but also elevating the function of the Finance Group within the overall organization, from simply reporting data to leading corporate strategy development.
Iris has been just a huge support. Having her as my coach saved me from spinning around with my questions and problems, and helped me sort and work things out well in a strategic way. I’m seeing very tangible results. There’s really been a return on investment.” – Stacey B., CFO, CBS News & CBS Television Stations
